Purple Day Manitoba March 26th
This year, the Purple Day Manitoba campaign invites everyone to GO PURPLE!
On March 26, 2025, you're encouraged to wear purple clothing or accessories to show your support and solidarity with the epilepsy community. The campaign aims to raise awareness and foster a sense of community and understanding in the Province of Manitoba.
Epilepsy is the 4th most common neurological disease after migraine, stroke, and Alzheimer’s disease.1 In fact, 1 in 26 people will be diagnosed with epilepsy at some point in their lifetime. Yet epilepsy remains misunderstood by the general public, discriminated against, and underfunded in research initiatives.
Purple Day Manitoba Objectives:
-
to raise awareness of the disease at municipal and Provincial government level as well as in the general public.
-
to strengthen the epilepsy movement by uniting people to support and participate in the campaign.
-
to raise visibility on epilepsy and encourage discussion about epilepsy.
-
to raise funds to support the Epilepsy and Seizure Association of Manitoba
Why Wear Purple on Purple Day Manitoba?
Wearing purple is a simple yet powerful way to show your support. It symbolizes:
-
Awareness: By wearing purple, you help spread awareness about epilepsy and the challenges faced by those living with the condition.
-
Solidarity: Demonstrating unity with individuals and families affected by epilepsy.
-
Education: Sparking conversations and encouraging learning about epilepsy, its effects, and how we can support those in our community.
GO PURPLE!
on March 26th for Purple Day Manitoba!
